Can a corrupted Excel workbook be recovered?
Often. Recovery depends on the package parts and complete worksheet rows that remain readable.
What happens to missing values?
Openable preserves only complete cells it can verify. It does not guess or invent missing values.
Will formatting, formulas, and images be recovered?
Valid formulas keep their last calculated values, and healthy supporting parts can be preserved, but you should review formatting, charts, images, and links in the new copy.
What happens to macros?
Macros are never preserved or executed. A macro-enabled workbook is rebuilt as a macro-free XLSX copy.
Can Openable unlock a password-protected XLSX?
No. Ordinary workbook and worksheet protection is preserved in the recovered copy. Only password-to-open encryption, or a protected part that cannot be read safely, is refused — Openable never attempts to bypass passwords or encryption.
